A B O U T
As owner and creator of Anna Laurence, I value a high service standard, interior styling, creativity and attention to detail.
I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree from The University of London in 1996, going on to work for the former Swissair, in Flight Operations and later with Singapore Airlines as an Account Manager. My experience within the corporate sector, for premium airlines, taught me the value of delivering high standards of service to customers.
Having a Mum who was an avid sewer and dressmaker, sewing has always been part of my life. Buying my first home in my 20s prompted my passion for interiors and fabrics, which inspired me to undertake a soft furnishings course in 2006; I have been creating soft furnishings in the traditional way ever since.
Curtains and Roman Blinds are hand-sewn using traditional stitching techniques, allowing for greater accuracy in the make up process and a finer finish. My sewing experience has given me a passion for curtain making using quality fabrics, resulting in beautifully made soft furnishings and accessories.
When furnishing my own home, prior to 2006, I discovered that often there would be many people involved in the soft furnishings chain - one person measuring, one person to consult with, then others that were making and fitting. This opened up potential weaknesses and miscommunication within the service, which I experienced first-hand when ordering my own soft furnishings and hardware.
It is with this experience in mind that has led me to offer a full service to customers; so as well as creating beautiful soft furnishings for your home, I oversee your window treatment project; from measuring, consultation, making, through to final fitting of your soft furnishings.
An integral part of building my service has included working hard to form relationships with the some of the most respected suppliers of fabrics, linings and hardware, to ensure I provide a seamless experience.
